Jere and Hiram,
Thanks for maintaining this site. Let me tell you a little about me. My name is Michael, from Dover, NH. I play fantasy baseball:) Well, Chris Snelling was one of my outfielders and as we know, he is being sent to the DL. So, I need a replacement. Our league is extremely shallow, meaning with 12 teams in our league and only using the AL player pool, there is not much to chose from. In my research for someone to call up, I came across Hiram's name, not only is he Chris' replacement, he is also about to become my replacement as I need an OF:) Hiram, I am counting on you my man. Batting .313 with 9 ding dongs and 25 walks in '07 tells me I am making the right decision:) Those walks tell me you are patient and your AVG. speaks for itself. This backs up last years stats, which I must say were impressive. I noticed you were playing for the River Cats, my squad is called the River Rats. This could be a match made in heaven, haha. I am currently in first place and was lacking in power, so on a whim I picked up your new teammate Jack Cust, he has single handedly kept me at the top.

Welcome back to the bigs, do what you do and it will all fall into place. Hopefully this note reaches you, no pressure;)

Michael Pellman

PS. Looking at your upcoming games, I noticed you are going against none other than Barry Zito, let me see if I can help us both out with a mini scouting report:

A left-hander, Zito throws an 86-90 mph four-seam fastball, a changeup, a slider, and a "12-6" curveball (whose nicknames include "Captain Hook", "Rip-Curl", and "Bert") that evokes Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax.[5] It was voted best curveball in the major leagues in a poll of players conducted by ESPN the Magazine. In mid-2004, Zito started throwing a two-seam fastball, and in 2005, he added a strong slider, or "slurve," to his arsenal. Zito's motion is very fluid and consistent, featuring a high leg kick with a straight over-the-top delivery.

He's going to hang one of those curves, when he does, smack the snot out it.
